CIBC Building
General Information
This four storey structure is in George Town, the central business district. With a total floor area of 25,000 square feet, this building provides full banking facilities on the ground floor and offices for the C.I.B.C. Trust Company on the remaining three floors. Fully air conditioned throughout, the heat load has been further reduced by incorporating a bronze anodized aluminium screen in the southern and western facilities.
The building frame is of structural steel with all columns and beams encased in concrete fireproofing. A fully reinforced concrete basement is included, together with reinforced cores for two hydraulic lifts and a stairwell and for the bank vaults.
