Cayman Turtle Farm
General Information
Work was undertaken to upgrade the world's only Green Sea Turtle Farm including a new pumping facility and refurbishment of the existing tanks. The new pumping station involved a new poured concrete building and pumping equipment which increased the pumping capacity to 2 million gallons per day. This increased supply of sea water improved the water quality for the entire farm.
McAlpine designed a solution to refurbish several of the existing tanks which were not in use due to spalling rebar and cracking. These tanks are still in use at the farm, the pumping station now services the adjacent dolphin facility.
