General Information
This four-storey 14,400 sq. ft. commercial building was completed to Miami Dade hurricane standards. The Building was Phase 4 of the 6.5 acre Cricket Square masterplan development in George Town. The building has a poured concrete frame, EIFS Exterior Walls, and raised floor internally. The unique feature of this building is that it has a poured roof slab below the timber and standing seam roof. The developer desired the secondary security of the concrete roof slab in the event of severe category five hurricanes.
It’s an extremely functional and economic design which resulted in an eighteen month construction schedule which was challenging for local resources affected by Hurricane Ivan a year earlier.
